Category: Animals & Pets : Dogs My neighbors are terrible about walking thier dogs and letting them use my yard as a bathroom, without cleaning up after thier dogs. I found two solutions, neither of which work all the time, but together they stop most of the problem. The first thing I did was plant thornbushes and cacti along the property line. That detered alot of casual dogs wandering in. It also discouraged the neighborhood vandals from trying to use my yard as a target for their destruction. The next thing I did which eliminated all but the most stubborn dogs was to sprinkle the entire yard with Squirrel Away. It is a powdered pepper and is very effective, make sure you wear a face mask when applying it, and don't do it on a windy day. I found that I needed to apply it about every 10 days or so. This also works in flower beds to keep cats out. Stubborn dogs can be detered if you catch them and you water your grass and them at the same time. Use a strong stream and try and get the dog in the face. I hope that this will help stop the dog elimination problem. About the author...
