Candy arrangements make wonderful center pieces, gifts -- they are basically good for any occasion! A really neat idea, is to use a base of wrapped candybars in personalized wrappers to make the box. If you are interested, please visit my website (http://www.aspenchocolates.com) and email me!

The How To's:

1. Place a styrofoam ball onto a dowel (a rod) the length you want the design to be heighwise... stick the dowel with ball on it down into a styrofoam base. (I usually have a terra cotta pot which has foam hot glued into it) Once I place the dowel with foam ball on it down into the base, cover the base with spanish moss or shred paper filler.

2. Using floral pins (these resemble hairpins), take wrapped hard candies (I use peerless brand which I buy wholesale from Peters Imports of Michigan), slip the twisted "stem" part of one end of the wrapper into the pins and stick into the foam ball. Continue to pin (pin both ends of the wrapper if you have double-ended), until entire top foam ball is covered and you can't see the foam at all.

3. Use #1 satin, double-faced ribbon in coordinating colors to make small loops and bows that you pin in between the candies you have already attached to the ball. Add some candies and ribbons, etc... to the base inside the pot as
well.

4. Make a large bow to tie around the dowel on the bottom-side of the ball and let ribbon tails dangle down.

This is one version and there are many people who simply hot glue or tape candy bars to long barbecue skewers of appropriate lengths and stick them down into a container of some kind and embellish with ribbons and bow and tissue puffs.
