Here's an idea of what one year with a puppy will cost you: Health Care Costs - Initial Vet Visit (shots, checkup, worming, etc.)- $40.00-$60.00 - Finishing shot series- $40.00-60.00 - Spaying or neutering- $50.00-$150.00 - Flea treatments (such as Advantage)- $60.00-120.00 - Heartworm medication- $50.00-$60.00 Maintenance Costs - Food- $100.00-$360.00 - Leashes and collars- $15.00-$40.00 - Licensing- $10.00-$45.00 - Grooming -do-it-yourself- $30.00-$60.00, professional $200.00-$300.00 - Cleaning products for accidents- $15.00-$60.00 Other Costs - Toys- $10.00-$100.00 - Training classes- $60.00-$120.00 - Treats- $60.00-$80.00 Total Costs- $540.00- $1475.00 a year.
