Feng shui (pronounced FUNG SHWAY) is the ancient Chinese art of arranging home & garden based on the way energy moves through a space.
According to these priciples it is possible to attract the things you want into your life-- money, love, fame, etc.-- by properly arranging your living space.
Start by noticing whether or not you are comfortable in a space. Identify the particular things that make you uncomfortable. Imagine energy as an arrow bouncing through the spaces in the room. Does the arrow follow a comfortable route, or is it erratic, or even bounced right out of the room immediately? Make a chart of the room and draw the energy's path. Imagine how you could rearrange things to make the path more natural, and then do it!
If something is broken, fix it or get rid of it! If you simply do not like something, get rid of it! I had a very ugly lamp that annoyed me every single day for four years. I kept it because I needed a lamp, and that's what it was. As soon as I got rid of it a lamp that was much more suited to my taste came into my life, almost magically, and I realized how much the other lamp had been subconsciously bothering me. Let go of anything that does not give you joy, my friends, and you will never be sorry!
Living room. The Power Wall is the wall opposite the main entrance to the room. Always put your main sitting area against the Power Wall. Sitting with your back to a door is uncomfortable and can even cause paranoid feelings.
Bedroom. You must be able to get out of bed on both sides. Putting your bed in a corner or against a wall leads to feelings of isolation in your life. Do not use your bedroom as an office or workspace if it is at all possible to avoid it. Doing so crowds out the room for relationships in your life. If you have no other choice, make the room as clearly divided as possible, with a room divider or clever use of furnishings. Take care that neither space feels confined.
Office. Do not put your desk against a wall if it can be avoided. Sitting for long periods with your face to the wall is psychologically hard on you, leading to fatigue & a tendency to overwork.
Bathroom. Bathrooms should always have a full-length mirror installed on the outside of the door, to deflect negative energy.
Pssst! Clutter is ruining your life! You can learn a lot about your psychological state by examining the cluttered areas of your home. Clutter reveals worry, and anything you worry about is amplified and causes all sorts of problems in your life. Clutter near the front door shows you are afraid to get out and live life. A messy kitchen reveals that you feel unloved. The good news is that fixing the space according to feng shui immediately improves the corresponding area in your life. It does, it does! You will be amazed at the good things that happen immediately after you start feng shui'ing. So get off your butt right now and try fixing just one small area of your life!
