Category: Computers & Technology Actually, this article is more then just for people who wants to get through to technical support on their software/hardware, but it works for any free helpline that comes with certain products you buy or ordered such as airline confirmations, health insurance questions etc.. So, here is the normal senario when you call one of these helplines "if you have a touch tone phone press 1..." so you press one because EVERYONE have a touch tone phone right? and then you get "if you want sales press 1, help press 2..." naturally you would press 2... Now, on some systems they would now guide you through to 1000 other buttons, I believe once I had to call HP and they took me all the way from option 1 to 99... it was hell, and in the end, I got a their automated database instead of a real person! and worst, what I want is not in the database so I had to start all over again and try to press the correct button this time to get to an operator... And then I found out about this trick... and so far its worked great... when the message ask if you have a touch tone phone, don't tell them you do! this way most recordings will send you to the company operator. You tell the operator what you want and they'll transfer you to the person directly! much much more efficient and its a real time saver! About the author...
