You want to open your sliding glass door, and once again it stuck open just enough to let every bug in the world in but not enough for you to get out- and worse, it doesn't want to shut.
You need to determine the cause of the sticking problem first.
1. Is it sticking because it needs lubricating?
If the bottom and the top tracks show signs of wear, you will probably need to clean and lubricate it.
Remove the door- usually accomplished by pushing the rollers on the top down with a screwdriver, or butter knife. It helps if you have someone help you, the door can get heavy if you are by yourself.
Clean the tracks (top and bottom) and the frame- any good cleaner will work and an old toothbrush comes in very handy. Dry thoroughly- a blow dryer works well.
This is also a good time to check the rollers for wear. If they are showing signs of cracking or flat spots it is a good idea to replace them now, while you have the door off. Your hardware store should have the correct size. Usually it is easier to take one roller with you to the hardware store, to make sure they have the right size, and style.
Relubricate the tracks in the frame- use a good houshold oil, or graphite. In a pinch, a candle will also work but is very temporary.
Replace your door, using the same technique in reverse as you used to get it out. Slide your door several times full open and closed, to see if it still sticks, and to spread the lubricant evenly.
If the door still sticks...
2. Check to see if it is a specific spot in the track that might be bent.
Depending upon your style of door, you might be able to straighten it out using a rubber mallet, and or a pair of pliers.
3. If you can't locate a bent area, check to see if the house has settled and the frame is out of alignment.
The easiest way I know to check the alignment is with a square piece of cardboard. Hold the cardboard in each corner, making sure both side and top/bottom fit flush, if one side is not flush then you will have to shim the door or frame. This will depend upon your home, and may require an expert.
Most sticking will be solved by the above steps and if not, you may need to replace the door, surpizingly enough they do wear out.
